Official WhatsApp API or unofficial tools: what is the difference?
The official API is the only route Meta authorises for automating replies. Unofficial tools (software that scans a QR code to imitate the app) break WhatsApp's rules and expose your number to a permanent block.
The official API (WhatsApp Business Platform)
- Authorised and documented by Meta.
- Message templates, 24-hour window, number quality monitoring.
- Connection through a Meta window, with no QR code and no software imitating the app.
Unofficial tools
- They simulate the WhatsApp app (for example by scanning a QR code with third-party software).
- Meta prohibits them: the number can be blocked, sometimes without appeal.
- No guarantee they keep working: they can stop at any time.
Our choice
WhatzAI uses the official API exclusively, through a connection approved by Meta. That is why connecting goes through a Facebook / Meta window and not a QR code.
